CEC’s 2008 Capitol Watch (CapWatch) season got underway this past month with great success! State Representative Randy Fisher, D-Fort Collins, attended the kick-off and spoke to an enthusiastic group of 30 CEC volunteers, just over half of whom were veteran CapWatch participants! Just as State Senator Ken Gordon and State Representative John Kefalas, D – Larimer, did in years past, Fisher emphasized the undeniable impact that constituent calls, letters, and emails have on the decesion making procees in our State Capitol. So far this year CapWatch volunteers have made education and outreach calls to fellow constituents regarding HB-1280 to “Protect Instream Flow Water Rights” and HB-1312 calling for “Transportation Investment Efficiency”The next CapWatch session is set for Wednesday March 5th from 6-8pm at the Alliance Center 1536 Wynkoop St #5C.
