Many of you may have received the below request from Elise Jones our Executive Director. ”Colorado Environmental Coalition has an ambitious goal of recruiting 2008 new members in 2008! Please respond by April 3rd and help CEC continue to push for common sense solutions to protect Colorado’s environment. We all choose to live in Colorado for different reasons. For some it’s the beautiful mountain scenery, for others it’s the countless days of glorious sunshine, and for many it’s the abundance of opportunities to hike, fish and play in Colorado’s great outdoors. But regardless of our individual reasons, we all have one thing in common: we all truly care about Colorado’s natural treasures and relish the incredible quality of life our state provides us.For over 43 years Colorado Environmental Coalition has been dedicated to protecting Colorado’s wild places, advocating for renewable energy policies, promoting responsible water initiatives, and leading the way in securing mass transit and developing sensible growth plans. The Coalition unites citizens and works to promote common sense solutions to protect Colorado.
I sincerely hope you will become an integral member of our organization. You can make a difference in a way few others do. Please join today!” While 2008 new members may seem like a tall order, it is in fact an absolutely attainable goal. In fact, last year alone, CEC boasted 1700 new members. So with your help we can bust through this year’s goal of 308 additional new members. Forward this message along to friends, colleagues, book-clubs, campus organizations, youth groups, etc, to which you are a member. If each of you recruit 5 new members we will more than exceed our goal and strengthen our standing as a citizen-driven voice for conservation throughout Colorado and within the State Capitol!
